This is definitely the mix that almost never was. Early March was looking as bleak as January in terms of quality which is scary considering the WMC was around the corner. Glad to say things picked up towards the end of the month, so much so there is now enough for two mixes. This mix starts off deep and vocal, spends a bit of time in London before dropping in on Marlon D for a couple. The first track is a remix from Rocco "Pain", so you know it's gonna be DEEP. The next track "Crying For Love" is text book deep soulful house. Everything about the track is warm smooth and soothing. It's like sending your ears to a lavish spa retreat for the weekend to be pampered. Pretty much impossible to put a mix out these days without an Atjazz contribution somewhere, "Glory" is another fine piece of work with his trademark sound. We have a double helping of Peven Everett too, firstly the mesmerising "Sweetness Is" and later on "How Bad I Want Ya", two great tracks separated by two others from Mathew Bandy & Kim English/Blacksoul. "We Can't Lose" has a live feel to it, nice. Great to hear Kim English back at the top of the pile with "The Only One" teaming up with in form Blacksoul. Don't get too carried away with the Love & Happiness beats, it's just a transition into "Cultureless", a track I didn't think much of at first but now when the chorus drops I get goosebumps every time. This is the point when we spend a bit of time in the UK picking up some London vibes. "Uplifted", "Sublim3" and "Feelin' Nervous" have that great bouncy urban feel to them. The next section gets very intense with at least two tracks playing at any given time. "Mufasa" acts as the cornflour to our musical cream sauce thickening up the beats and bass, while "Take Me Higher" provides the flavour. Same again with "Cicadas" underpinning "Cmon Babe". The next track doesn't needs steroids as Marlon D's already given it a good work out, "Afrika vs NY" is BONKERS plain and simple. We finish up with a second track from Mark de Clive-Lowe - "Feels Like Home", a great production leaving me looking forward to more from him this year. Tracklisting: 1) Mr Cee ft Mind Games - Pain (Rocco Dub Mix) 2) Manoo & Francois A ft Dyanna Fearon - Crying For Love 3) Halo ft Maiya - Glory (Atjazz Remix) 4) Peven Everett - Sweetness Is (Koyla Remix) 5) Black Coffee ft Hugh Masekela - We Are One (Bhoddi Beats) 6) Matthew Bandy ft Adrianne Archie - We Can't Lose 7) Kim English meets Blacksoul, Jozsef Keller & Pete-r - The Only One (Maurice Joshua Soul Mix) 8) Soul Element ft Peven Everett - How Bad I Want Ya (GU True Peaktime Mix) 9) River Ocean ft India - Love & Happiness (Tito & India) 10) Souled ft Ashley Thomas - Cultureless 11) MdCL - Uplifted 12) Soul Purpose - Sublim3 13) Joey Negro pres Akabu - Feelin' Nervous (Joey Negro Extended Mix) 14) Leroy Styles & Mario Dwight - Mufasa 15) Tony Lionni - Take Me Higher 16) Tuccillo - Cmon Babe 17) Tom Middleton - Cicadas (Part 1) (Marlon D's U.C.
